Why I’m Here

Writer's picture: Nicole JacobsNicole Jacobs

Hello! You found my page which for me is super exciting and I hope you are finding what you are looking for too!

Let me introduce myself, I’m Nicole and I created my practice to serve those who suffer with a disordered relationship with food as well as their body image and how one views exercise.

I am SUPER passionate about the work I do and feel privileged to walk hand in hand to act as a guide to get you to where you want to go in your relationship with food, exercise and your body.

Although I have had years of training and experience in this area, you are the expert on your own life and I am the expert on how food intersects with all aspects of daily life and can feel like it is taking over your life.

I love helping people and building authentic relationships in a safe and caring way. I use a non judgemental approach to support you in your goals. I know the struggle can feel like it has consumed your entire life so that is why I want to help. I feel empowered knowing I can serve others in a sincere way to help you establish a healthier relationship with food.

So here’s a little about me. I am assuming you may want to know if you are reading this post.

As a teen I suffered from my own eating disorder. Thanks to therapy and a supportive family, I was able to move into recovery. Although I was no longer engaging in significant behaviors, I was still impacted by diet culture and now realize I did not have full peace with  food until doing this work. I continued to diet and struggle with food beliefs until I fully understood the science behind food and what’s actually “healthy and unhealthy.”

So I’ve been there. I have walked where you have walked, thought what you have thought and struggled in similar ways.

Fast forward a decade later in my early 20s and I had found myself interested in the field of counseling. I always knew I wanted to help others. So I got my degree with zero idea as to where I really wanted to land career wise but thought being a therapist was a good place to start.

I landed my first big girl job as a direct care counselor at an eating disorder treatment center and fell in love with the helping side of things. I wanted to dive deeper, understand the origins of people’s issues with food and help clients develop better ways to cope. I became a therapist and the rest is history. Sort of. After several years of working as a therapist it was my goal to have my own practice, which started part time in 2017.

A few years later the services were in such high demand I added additional therapists to my practice. We have been serving clients in Missouri for a few years now but I wanted to do more.

I NEEDED TO DO MORE. So I got creative and thought, what’s next? This led me to creating courses to help others at their own pace, on demand in healing their relationship with food and their body.

I was super excited about this next chapter and hope you can find resources you need from my blog, or resource library as I like to think of it, or through the free handouts and materials I provide along the way.

If you would love additional resources, to stay in the know and to be supported on this journey with someone who's been there, done that, sign up with your email and I will be sure it is WORTH YOUR TIME.

I promise I won’t send you spam but rather provide additional information, materials, support and encouragement along the way to HELP YOU heal your relationship with food, movement and your body.

Why do this? Because you are worth it. You always were and will continue to be worth it.

If you landed on this page, I am assuming you want something in your life to change.

Here’s your sign! Sign up and let’s get to work.

Life’s too short to be stuck in the negativity around what you eat in a day and how you feel about yourself.

YOU DESERVE THIS! Let’s go!

Sincerely, Nicole

A woman on a mission to support as many people as I can in their quest for food freedom, tolerance towards their bodies and self wellness.
